FACILITIES AT NSMS NURSING INSTITUTE

Lecture Hall / Multi-Purpose Hall/ Auditorium
Well-furnished spacious lecture halls equipped with latest teaching aids are available to have a highly interactive session of classroom teaching. All the lecture halls are well illuminated and properly ventilated with modern seating arrangement. Spacious, well ventilated and equipped with seating arrangements, AV aids such as LCD projector, TV / Video. It is used for conducting various academic and non-academic programmes.
COMPUTER LAB
The institute has it’s own Modern Computer Lab with sufficient number of computers and related accessories to facilitate the students with the opportunity to develop their digital literacy. Nursing has always been a highly technical profession. Computers are ingrained in the culture of hospitals and private practices, and hence in the nursing profession. CLINICS
According to the course plan, the student will be getting enough exposure to clinical area. The clinical experience is being imparted at the Vivekananda Hospital (114 bedded) located at Bidhannagar, Durgapur – 06. The hospital has all the modern facilities. Selected field trips to Urban and Rural Primary Health Centre will also be arranged for Community Health Nursing clinical practice.
LABORATORY
The institute has required number of laboratories equipped with all the necessary equipment and instruments for various subjects of Nursing Courses. The laboratories are developed as per the norms of Indian Nursing Council(INC) and West Bengal Nursing Council (WBNC) and are designed in such a manner that better working environment and safety can be provided.
QUALIFIED AND TRAINED FACULTIES
The institute has adequate number of qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty in order to make the students competent enough so that they can deal with dynamic challenges of modern healthcare system. They create professionals who are ready to face the world and become successful learners, researchers, and entrepreneurs.
LIBRARY
There is a computerized Central Library in the institute with attached reading room. The library has enough number of course related books, journals, magazines etc which are needed for the students as well as for the faculties. The library is spacious, well illuminated and properly ventilated.
RAGGING FREE ENVIRONMENT
Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited in the institution as well as hostel campus. In case the applicant for admission is found to have indulged in ragging in the past or if it is noticed later that she has indulged in ragging, admission can be refused or she shall be subjected to penal action as per provisions of law, also expelled from the institution, as detailed in the law concerned and as per Hon’ble Supreme Court of India directions in this regard. After the admission is confirmed, each student has to give undertaking regarding non- involvement in ragging.
Hostel Facilities
Dedicated Hostel is available in the institute campus itself for suitable accommodation of the students. The rooms are spacious and well-furnished in order to make the resident comfortable. The hostelhas24 – hours security arrangement to provide extremely safe and secure stay of the students. There is a dedicated Hostel Warden (female) to supervise the students. Facilities available in the Hostel are-Hygienic Canteen, Recreation Centre, Playground etc.
COUNSELLING AND GUIDANCE
Counselling for a better adjustment to life is provided by the expert counsellors and teachers which helps the students to solve the problems arising out of academic and non-academic challenges. Career counselling services will be arranged to assist students on avast spectrum of subjects relating to career planning, employment prospects, career choices and job search. Counselling will also be provided to help the students in maintaining a healthy mind and cordial relationship among themselves. Services of trained and experienced clinical psychologists are made available to any student who needs guidance at anytime
